Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 18, 2026

[Operator name] ("we") operates WaitWallet (잠깐지갑) and takes your privacy seriously. This policy applies to both of the following products:

If this English version and the Korean version differ, the Korean version prevails.

At a glance

  • There is no sign-up or login, and we don't ask for your name, phone number or email.
  • All records are stored only on your phone or in your browser and are never sent to our servers. We cannot see your records.
  • From payment notifications we use only the amount, merchant and time. The notification text, card numbers and balances are never stored.
  • The free App shows Google AdMob ads, and Google may collect your advertising ID and related data. The Extension has no ads.
  • You can delete all records at any time inside the App or the Extension.

1. Information we process and why

All of the information below is processed and stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us.

The Extension does not read the content of the pages you visit (text, images, form inputs). It only compares the address with your block list.

2. Permissions

Android App

  • Usage access: to know whether the app currently open is on your watch list
  • Display over other apps: to show the check-in screen over a shopping app
  • Notification access (optional): to record the amount and merchant from card and payment notifications
  • Post notifications: to show the monitoring status and payment alerts
  • Foreground service, start at boot: to keep monitoring running and resume it after a restart
  • Internet, advertising ID: to show Google AdMob ads (see section 3)

Chrome Extension

  • storage: to keep settings and records in the browser
  • webNavigation, tabs: to detect navigation to a blocked site and replace that tab with the check-in screen
  • alarms: to pause the site again when the allowed time ends, and to remind you about holds after one hour
  • notifications: to show the hold reminder

You can revoke any permission at any time in your device or browser settings. Only the related feature will stop working.

3. Advertising

The free version of the App shows Google AdMob banner ads at the bottom of the home, hold and report screens. There are no ads on the check-in screen or in the Extension.

To serve ads, Google may collect and process your device's advertising ID, device and app information, IP address, and ad impressions and clicks. This information is processed by Google, not by us, under Google's policies.

Your WaitWallet check-in and payment records are not used for ads and are not shared with Google.

4. Retention and deletion

  • Records stay on your device or in your browser until you delete them. We keep no personal information on our servers.
  • App: delete everything at once with Settings > "Delete all records". Uninstalling the App also deletes the records on the device.
  • Extension: delete everything with Dashboard > Rules > "Delete all records". Removing the Extension also deletes them. Check-in records older than two years are deleted automatically.
  • Payment notification text is discarded right after the amount, merchant and time are extracted.

5. Sharing and processors

We do not sell or provide your personal information to third parties, and we do not use processors to handle it. Information that Google collects directly for advertising (section 3) is governed by Google's policies.

6. Your rights

You can view, correct and delete your information at any time. Because all records are on your own device, you can review and delete them directly in the App or the Extension. For questions, use the contact in section 11.

7. Security

  • Records are never sent to an external server, which removes the risk of leaks in transit.
  • App records are kept in app-private storage that other apps cannot access, and are excluded from automatic cloud backup.
  • Only the necessary values are extracted from payment notifications; the original text is not stored.

8. Children

WaitWallet is not directed at children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Chrome Web Store User Data Policy

The use of information handled by the Extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The Extension uses information only for its single purpose — a spending check-in before entering shopping sites — and does not sell it, use it for advertising or creditworthiness, or transfer it for any other purpose.

10. Changes to this policy

If we add features that store information on a server, such as sign-in backup, we will update this policy first and notify you in the App and the Extension in advance. Changes are posted on this page with the effective date.
