Before you buy,
wait.
WaitWallet steps in the moment you open a shopping or food-delivery app or website, and your wallet only opens after a short mission.
until you're up
until you pause
Like an alarm you can only turn off by solving a mission, you solve a mission before you can use a shopping app or site.
What is WaitWallet?
When one of the shopping or delivery apps you picked comes to the screen, WaitWallet covers it with a check-in screen. It shows how many times you've been here this week, asks what you're about to buy and for how much, and lets you in only after a short mission. If you pay anyway, it points it out the moment the payment notification arrives.
It's for people who want to cut small, frequent leaks — delivery, convenience stores, online shopping — rather than big purchases.
From recording spending to catching it
Budget apps record after you pay. App blockers limit screen time. WaitWallet steps in right before and right after you spend.
| Budget apps | App blockers | WaitWallet | |
|---|---|---|---|
| When it steps in | After payment | Set time windows | When you open a shopping app or site + right after paying |
| What it limits | Nothing | Screen time | Spending |
| Records | Manual entry | None | Automatic, from check-ins and payment notifications |
| Reward | Monthly stats | Focus time | Money-saved counter |
Apps on your phone, websites on your PC
Both follow the same rules. On your phone it pauses shopping apps; on your PC it pauses shopping websites.
Pauses shopping & delivery apps
- A check-in screen covers the apps you picked
- Records payments from card and pay-app notifications
- Flags payments made without a check-in
Pauses shopping websites
- A check-in screen appears before the site opens
- Add any site address you want to block
- Works in Chrome, Edge and Whale

Three minutes to set up, then every day
Setup takes about three minutes. No sign-up needed.
Pick where money leaks Once
Shopping and delivery apps installed on your phone are pre-selected. Uncheck the ones you don't need and reorder the categories if you like.
Allow phone settings Once
To notice when a shopping app opens, show the check-in screen over it, and read payment notifications, a few phone settings need your permission. The app walks you through each one.
Set your rules Once
Choose your weekly free passes, the hourly wage used for the work-time mission, this month's budget, and how long you can use an app after passing. The defaults work fine too.
Open a shopping app, get a check-in Before buying
The check-in screen comes first. With free passes left you solve one mission; once they're used up or the amount is ₩50,000 or more, you solve two and wait a moment. Pass, and you can use it for the time you set (10 minutes by default) — then it pauses again.
Pay, and it checks right away After paying · app
Payment notifications from card and pay apps are used to record the amount and merchant automatically. A payment made without a check-in gets flagged right away, like "This is your 3rd payment today."

What you see when you open a shopping app
잠깐!
이번 주 배달의민족 4번째예요.

Example screen. The app is currently in Korean; amounts are made up.
It starts with the count. "Your 4th Baemin order this week" — small amounts look different when you see how often they add up.
It turns money into work time. You type a sentence like "This is 2 hours 18 minutes of my work," calculated from your hourly wage (₩10,000 in this example).
The easiest choice is to skip it. "I won't buy it" stands out the most. If you really need it, solve the missions and go ahead.
Not sure? Put it on hold. An hour later it asks, "Still need it?" Drop it then, and it counts toward money saved.
Missions that open your wallet
Like an alarm that only stops after a mission, they make you think for a moment. About 30 seconds is enough.

Type why you need it right now, with a minimum number of characters. Typing, not tapping a button.
Wait a moment Free
After the missions, you wait a few seconds before it opens. Added when your passes are used up or the amount is ₩50,000 or more.

Questions you might have
Does it work on iPhone?
There's no iPhone app yet. You can use the Android app, and the Chrome extension on your PC (Chrome, Edge, Whale).
Are app and extension records combined?
Not yet — each device keeps its own records. We plan to connect them once sign-in backup is available.
Is my card or payment information sent to a server?
No. All records stay on your phone (or in your browser) and are not sent to WaitWallet servers. Card numbers and balances are never kept. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Which phone settings do I need to allow?
"Usage access" to notice when a shopping app opens, "Display over other apps" to show the check-in screen, and "Notification access" to read payment notifications. Notification access is optional — the check-in works without it.
Won't I just end up turning it off?
Missions take about 30 seconds, and weekly free passes plus "Just this once today" (once a day) give you room to breathe. Start with the places where money leaks the most.
Does it drain the battery?
It rests while the screen is off. On some phones you may need to exclude WaitWallet from battery optimization so the check-in isn't interrupted; the app links you to that setting.
When is it available?
We're preparing the Android app for Google Play and the extension for the Chrome Web Store.
Thirty seconds before your wallet opens
Small pauses add up — and so does the money you save.
