If this English version and the Korean version differ, the Korean version prevails.

1. Information we process and why
All of the information below is processed and stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us.
Android App
| Information | Source | Purpose | Storage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apps to watch, rules (hourly wage, budget, weekly passes, allowed minutes), category order | Set by you | Decide which apps get a check-in screen and how hard the missions are | On device |
| The app currently on screen | Usage access permission | Check in real time whether the opened app is on your watch list (app usage history itself is not stored) | Not stored |
| Check-ins: app name, item, expected amount, reason, outcome (skipped, used, on hold), time | Entered by you on the check-in screen | Money saved, weekly report, free-pass count | On device |
| Payments: amount, merchant, time | Notifications from card and pay apps (notification access, optional) | Record payments automatically and flag payments without a check-in | On device (notification text, card numbers and balances are not stored) |
| Holds: app name, item, amount, reminder time | When you choose "hold" | Ask you again one hour later | On device |
Payment notifications are read only if you grant notification access, and only from a fixed list of card and payment apps. Notifications from other apps (such as messengers) are never read.
Chrome Extension
| Information | Source | Purpose | Storage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blocked-site settings, addresses you add, rules | Set by you | Decide which sites get a check-in screen | In the browser (chrome.storage.local) |
| The address (URL) of the page you're navigating to | Browser navigation events (webNavigation, tabs permissions) | Check whether the site is on your block list | Not stored (except for holds below) |
| Check-ins: site name, item, expected amount, reason, outcome, time | Entered by you on the check-in screen | Money saved and reports | In the browser |
| Holds: site name, item, amount, page address, reminder time | When you choose "hold" | Remind you after one hour and reopen the page if you choose "Still need it" | In the browser |
The Extension does not read the content of the pages you visit (text, images, form inputs). It only compares the address with your block list.
2. Permissions
Android App
- Usage access: to know whether the app currently open is on your watch list
- Display over other apps: to show the check-in screen over a shopping app
- Notification access (optional): to record the amount and merchant from card and payment notifications
- Post notifications: to show the monitoring status and payment alerts
- Foreground service, start at boot: to keep monitoring running and resume it after a restart
- Internet, advertising ID: to show Google AdMob ads (see section 3)
Chrome Extension
- storage: to keep settings and records in the browser
- webNavigation, tabs: to detect navigation to a blocked site and replace that tab with the check-in screen
- alarms: to pause the site again when the allowed time ends, and to remind you about holds after one hour
- notifications: to show the hold reminder
You can revoke any permission at any time in your device or browser settings. Only the related feature will stop working.
3. Advertising
The free version of the App shows Google AdMob banner ads at the bottom of the home, hold and report screens. There are no ads on the check-in screen or in the Extension.
To serve ads, Google may collect and process your device's advertising ID, device and app information, IP address, and ad impressions and clicks. This information is processed by Google, not by us, under Google's policies.
- How Google uses ad data: policies.google.com/technologies/ads
- Reset or delete your advertising ID: Settings > Google > Ads on your phone (menu names vary by device)
Your WaitWallet check-in and payment records are not used for ads and are not shared with Google.
4. Retention and deletion
- Records stay on your device or in your browser until you delete them. We keep no personal information on our servers.
- App: delete everything at once with Settings > "Delete all records". Uninstalling the App also deletes the records on the device.
- Extension: delete everything with Dashboard > Rules > "Delete all records". Removing the Extension also deletes them. Check-in records older than two years are deleted automatically.
- Payment notification text is discarded right after the amount, merchant and time are extracted.
5. Sharing and processors
We do not sell or provide your personal information to third parties, and we do not use processors to handle it. Information that Google collects directly for advertising (section 3) is governed by Google's policies.
6. Your rights
You can view, correct and delete your information at any time. Because all records are on your own device, you can review and delete them directly in the App or the Extension. For questions, use the contact in section 11.
7. Security
- Records are never sent to an external server, which removes the risk of leaks in transit.
- App records are kept in app-private storage that other apps cannot access, and are excluded from automatic cloud backup.
- Only the necessary values are extracted from payment notifications; the original text is not stored.
8. Children
WaitWallet is not directed at children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Chrome Web Store User Data Policy
The use of information handled by the Extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The Extension uses information only for its single purpose — a spending check-in before entering shopping sites — and does not sell it, use it for advertising or creditworthiness, or transfer it for any other purpose.
10. Changes to this policy
If we add features that store information on a server, such as sign-in backup, we will update this policy first and notify you in the App and the Extension in advance. Changes are posted on this page with the effective date.
